I Am A Champion
Wednesday, July 08, 2009
Continuing on yesterday’s theme of the mind being everything when it comes to training, my question today to all of you is this: Do you see yourself as a champion?
Now don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with whether you've ever won any kind of competition or have a room full of trophies. It IS all about having a champion’s attitude and mindset, which is all about doing what it takes to succeed and giving 110% every training session.
Do you attack each and every workout with vigor, intent, enthusiasm, passion and a burning desire to perform better than ever before? And if not, why? What's the point of just going through the motions?
Mediocrity is nothing to get excited about, and if you're looking in the mirror and still not happy with the way you look and feel, then perhaps it's time to take your game to the next level, to start acting and thinking like a champion.
Try this for your next workout; 5 minutes prior to starting, clear your mind of anything that is not related to your workout. Remember why you're here in the first place... to be rough, tough, buff and look great naked!!
Next, visualize your workout in advance, seeing yourself attacking each and every exercise with power and laser beam focus...being fully aware and in the moment every second of the workout.
Now do the workout at full throttle, barely in control, full throttle, heart pounding, eyes open wide, sweat pouring...a workout that you'll be telling your grandkids about.
When it's over, give thanks to God for giving you such a wonderful, functional body, and honor that gift by promising to treat your body as it is meant to be treated; with respect, reverence, love and lots of great, kick-butt workouts ; )
Now turn the volume up on your computer all the way, enlarge the screen and enjoy this motivational video of a football coach laying the hammer down...whoooooooooooo!
Live With Passion,
Roy
PS How about some comments on this, guys? Tell me how you get ready for our training sessions and what motivates you.
